We have spent much more time with Don's family now that we live in Utah. In the past, we haven't been able to do much with them for the holidays, so it was nice to celebrate with his side of the family this year!
St. George has an amphitheater called Tuacahn that is built out of the red rock at Snow Canyon. The backdrop and scenery is beautiful. Every year, Tuacahn hosts a number of different holiday events leading up to Christmas. This year, we went to the nativity production and the holiday train ride.
The train ride is just a little trolly that drives around the parking lot, but it's fun with all the lights and decorations. Auggie loved it once he actually got in, but initially he was very scared when the conductor blew the horn. He kept reminding us throughout the ride that the conductor blew the horn and it was loud.
The nativity production was wonderful. They had live animals that came out on the stage during the stable scene, and Auggie thought it was so awesome. He did a great job of staying quiet during the entire production until the animals came out...then the whole theatre heard his little voice ring out, "Where could be the camel? That's baby Jesus! Where could be the sheep?! Where could be Mary? Is that Joooseph?!" It was one of those times when you're embarrassed but also proud, and serious as you try to keep him quiet but also bursting with laughter inside. You know what I'm talking about?
We also saw the light show at Thanksgiving Point. It was fun, but we went on a freezing cold night. Like, I think it was maybe 28 degrees? Needless to say, we didn't last very long with Auggie and ended the night early.
