{Day 7}
Busy busy busy day seven...first stop, United Nations! I can't believe I had never been here before. This was the only time that *not* pre-planning didn't go our way...I thought we'd be able to sneak in for a last-minute tour, but they were booked up for weeks. The flags were definitely cool though.
Quick stop at NYU Langone for the memories! This was fun and nostalgic because of the many times I walked through these doors on my way to see Don while we were dating. He used to meet me in the lobby to escort me up and down from his dorm (cuuuuute) or walk me to the entrance to call a cab for me on my way out. 💓
The Lego Store! Possibly the best part of the trip for Auggie.
The Flatiron Building and Strand Bookstore. We took a small reading break in Strand and bought the cutest book called, "The Knight Owl" to remember our trip by.
We tried to go to the Frick Collection in the afternoon, but no kids under ten allowed. So, we went shopping at my new favorite designer store instead! I bought these amazing olive trousers while Auggie licked the mirror, ha.
{Day 8}
Natural History Museum. Auggie was especially excited to see if the giant whale still had his Covid-19 vaccine bandaid, and he does.
Somewhere during the trip, the boys started holding hands while riding in the double stroller and my heart exploded.
The Guggenheim was a wonderful afternoon stop. Such a kid-friendly museum.
96th Street & 5th Avenue playground in Central Park. Game changer! Walk-up window sushi to-go, then straight to the park became our new evening routine.
{Day 9}
26th Street Antiques Fair. A man at one of the booths gave each of the boys a vintage Hot Wheels car. Everyone is always so nice to them, but it felt like even more so in the city.
The boys were hot and tired so we stopped for a lot of snacks, popsicles, and italian ices.
Eataly for focaccia and cheese, obvs.
Union Square Market.
Went for an evening run and found a summer concert in the park instead!
Wandered through the bustling crowds towards Bethesda fountain and found fuuun street performers. The boys were dancing, the musicians were laughing, and everybody was drumming to the beat. There are a thousand reasons to love New York...but night bongos in Central Park is officially at the top of my list.
{Day 10}
Met Jenna and her two littlest, Klay & Cassidy, on the Staten Island Ferry! Fun day in the city exploring with them.
All Klay wanted to do was feed the birds. So we did!
Brooklyn Bridge, of course.
Subway buddies.
Took a stroll through Little Italy in search of pizza and gelato. Little Italy is always a crowd pleaser that never disappoints.
